hiv concern

2 days ago i had protected sex with a street sex worker in Tijuana mexico,it was protected vaginal sex. However since then i am having gastrointestinal problems,i cannot eat and i use the restroom alot, also during the second episode the condom was intact but it was low,i was wondering whether i need testing and does the stomach problems have anything to do with the exposure,i am concerned. And i am sure the condoms did not break, but what can be done about these gastric problems. i am thinking alot.

If your GI upset is troubling you, you should see a doctor.  This is not an STI of any sort.

Time for this thread to end.  Take care. EWH

Tiredness and lethary are to be expected as part of your illness.  I would not be concerned that this is HIV or any other STI. EWH

Welcome to our Forum.  As you may remember from our earlier interchange, condom protected sex, as long as the condom is worn throughout the encounter, is safe sex with no appreciable risk for any STI.  On the other hand, persons who visit Mexico commonly get gastrointestinal maladies including nausea, vomiting and most commonly diarrhea.  I anticipate that your current problems are not due to your sexual encounter but something that you ate or drank while in Mexico.

There is no reason for concern that your current GI problems are due to the sexual encounter that you describe and no need for STI testing (including for HIV).  EWH
