scared to death

12 weeks ago, I had unprotected sex with someone about 3 times. I went to get tested at 12 weeks and I had a negative result. The day before I went and got tested, I had the tb skin test stuff injected. Can this affect my test any? Are my results accurate? I'm not really having any symptoms just worried to death. Please help me.

Your negative HIV test result is completely reliable.  No medicine and no health condition changes the reliabltility of HIV testing (with the possible exception of potent chemotherapy and terminal illnesses); certainly your tuberculosis skin test makes no difference.

So congratulations!  You can go forward with 100% knowledge you didn't catch HIV during the encounter 12 weeks ago.

I hope this helps.  Best wishes--  HHH, MD

You are not the only one feeling like this, believe me, you will be fine.
Congratulations on your conclusive results.

Dr. HHH, forgive me for interjecting but I'm unable to get an expert reply to my questions/emails (tried three times). Carlos45.
