hi doctor,

i would like to start off by thanking you for doing such a fabulous job.

the girl spit on my penis to lubricate my penis before giving me a ********. i immediately went to the bathroom and cleaned it up with a tissue paper. then i used a condom and got a ********. i have sever dermatitis and i had some painful cuts on my penis when the above incident happened.

1) the next day i got some dry scratchy thorat and some dry cough which persisted for a few dasy. the cough is gone but i still have some scratch throat.i also have severe gerd and i have had severe symptoms of dry throat for a long time.

2) 10 days after the exposure i have some itchy skin in my legs and also in the abdomen area. i use cortizone cream and they are gone.

3) i saw some flaky scaly skin yesterday night in the back . i cleaned them up and i see them once again.

i am very scared about these rashes and early hiv infection. pls let me know your thoughts about this. all sites say that skin rashes is early hiv infection.

i posted the same question and paid money in the std forum by mistake. not a problem.

thanks a lot

The risk of unprotected oral sex is close to zero.  The quoted figure for HIV risk, if one has oral sex with an infected partner is less than 1 in 10,000 and, in my estimation that is too high. Some experts state there is no risk at all from oral sex.  Neither of us on this site have ever seen or reading the medical literature of a convincing instance in which HIV was passed by oral sex.

Your dermatological conditrion and that her saliva may have come into contact with open sores in no way changes my assessment.  Furthermore your flaking skin does not in any way suggest HIV.  I would seek input from yoru dermatologist if you have a concern.  Still no risk and no medical reason for testing.   EWH

thanks a lot for your prompt and quick reply. appreciate it very much.

sorry about the confusion in my question. the girl used spit to lubricate my penis to give me oral sex. i wiped the spit and then we had protected oral sex. no vaginal sex.  these are my questions. i live in the united states and had this incident with a girl from here in the u.s.a.

1) did my dermatological problems have either increased my risk when her spit came into contact with my sores in my penis due to the dermatological problems.my only exposure was her spit on my penis.

2) after the above incident i am seeing flaky skin on my back. i have had flaky skin on my penis but not on my back.

thanks a lot and sorry to bother you

Welcome to the Forum  I will do my best to answer your question.  As you can see however, the Forum editorial feature has edited out some of the terms you used to describe your risk.  My understanding is the your penis was spit upon for lubrication during masturbation by a female partner and that you then applied a condom and had condom-protected vaginal sex.  Your concern relates in part to the exposure and in part to whether your own dermatological problems might have either increased your risk or could be a manifestation of HIV.  The answer to both is no.  Let's elaborate on this:

1.  Before we even start, please realize that HIV is rare in the U.S. if that is where you live with less than 1 in 1000 heterosexual women having HIV and with far lower rates if your partner was not an IV drug user. Thus the possibility that your partner had HIV is quite low.
2.  There is no risk of HIV from masturbation.  Whether or not this was saliva-lubricated masturbation or not is irrelevant.  No one has ever gotten HIV from receipt of masturbation and you will not be the first.  Your dermatitis does not change this either.
3.  Your vaginal sex was condom protected. Condoms work, even with your dermatitis.  No risk.
4.  Your sore throat started the day after your exposures.  HIV and other STDs do not produce symptoms within 24 hours of exposure, typically taking at least 2-3 days to prodice symptoms.  Your sore throat is due to something else.
5. Your recent dermatological problems are the likely source of your continuing rash, not HIV.  your HIV risk is close to, if not, zero.

Bottom line, nothing you have described suggests any risk for HIV.  Hope this helps.  EWH

hi doctor,

i would like to start off by thanking you for doing such a fabulous job.

the girl spit on my penis to lubricate my penis before giving me oralsex. i immediately went to the bathroom and cleaned it up with a tissue paper. there were no visible signs of blood in her spit when i cleaned the spit from my penis. then i used a condom and got oral sex. i have severe dermatitis for a long time.i had some painful cuts on my penis when the above incident happened.

1) the next day i got dry scratchy thorat and some dry cough which persisted for a few days. the cough is gone but i still have scratchy throat.i would like to add that i  have severe gerd and i have had symptoms of dry throat for a long time.

2) 10 days after the exposure i have some itchy skin in my legs and also in the abdomen area. i use cortizone cream and they are gone.

3) i saw some flaky scaly skin yesterday night in the back . i cleaned them up and i see them once again. no fever or any other symptoms.

i am very scared about these rashes and early hiv infection. pls let me know your thoughts about this. all sites say that skin rashes is early hiv infection.
