My uncle tested +ve in 1998

My maternal uncle (age 53 yrs), whome I love so much... has been tested +ve in 1997, but I came to know about it just few days before.

I am not aware about his CD4 count or viral load. He stays in a small village in India and under treatment of the doctors of Government Hospital and takes medicines for HIV (subsidised by government) prescribed by them.

Last month he was hospitalised due to severe fever and weakness and dignosed with Intestinal TB.  He also has chronic piles.  He has also lost cosiderable weight (50%).  Being a small farmer in underdeveloped villege in India he is not able to maintain a healthy lifestyle but his children are helping him as much as they can.

So now he is HIV+ from almost 13 years and has Tuberculosis (TB) & Piles also [from this i think that he must have developed AIDS, but i have not seen reports)........ I want to know his life expectancy from this point of time.

Please guide me about this, I love this person too much..... I have spent happy time in childhood with him..... so have to plan few things now.

thanks teak dats quite assuring answer..... but one last query.

As I said, he has HIV + TB..... and this man works on farm in intese heat and consumes normal food and takes prescribed medicines...... is that sufficient enough to live full life span.

Coz i heared that, once HIV progresses to AIDS.... then all what one gets is 5-6 years (considering the lifestyle my uncle have)

If he is HIV positive and has TB which is an Opportunistic Infection more than likely he does have AIDS. If he takes his meds religiously and doesn't miss his doses he will more than likely live a full life span.
