Got a positive result

Please help me ease my anxiety and tell me why this is a false positive result? I have posted a thread in our HIV Prevention forum and was told that it is false positive. I'm really concerned. Please take time to visit the thread:

As you were told in your other thread, you were never exposed to HIV. There is no possible alternative than a false positive ELISA.

i have a lot of questions running in my mind right now.

was that a false negative nat? is it possible that there were no detectable hiv at 7 weeks? nat would've detected it even at 2 weeks.

was it really a false reactive eclia?

did i get it from the lab where i took the nat?

could i have infected my girlfriend?

i just need someone to interact with right now. im too stressed.

Avalyn3 has been banned from the HIV Anxiety Support Group for providing false, misleading, and anxiety-provoking information. He has also been reported to MedHelp. I request that the moderators delete his posts in this thread.

Apollo is absolutely correct, the OP should NEVER have tested for HIV over his NO RISK situation and his false positive result is the kind of unfortunate result that can result from that. The OP's false positive result will ultimately resolve NEGATIVE. This Group and the HIV Prevention forums NEVER advise to test for HIV over oral sex for this very reason.

For those who wish to advise members of this Group: this Group goes by the criteria for risks and testing established by MedHelp's DOCTORS, just like the HIV Prevention forum. If you do not agree with those guidelines then please do not post here. Thank you.

I really hope it was just a false reactive eclia. Please understand if I took the test. I experienced symptoms which incidentally is within the time frame for ARS so I can't take the risk of having to ignore the possibility as my girlfriend and I are planning to have a baby.

No they dont say test, read the expert forum as i said before... If you stopped and actually read the posts on that forum you may just enlighten yourself.

And once again you ingnored what i said before.... The nhs clinics do not belive testing for hiv is valid from oral sex.. I was only their 2 weeks ago and was talking to the doctor.

Their is no point testing when you dont have a risk and thats why they dont test you and why experts dont tell you to test either... Simples.

So the world leading experts here are not correct really? Really?

Ive never heard any leading expert say oral sex carrys a questionable risk. Stop making this up, it fools no body.

i can deny that fact, because the facts prove oral sex in normal circumstances is not  risk of hiv transmission.

Hiv experts have not seen a case and the fact billions of acts are done every month without transmission would also carry weight that oral sex is nit a realistic way of hiv transmission.

People say you cannot deny there is a god, facts and science prove other wise.

Thats not what you said, most experts which is not true.

Your second statement is also incorrect. The nhs do not see a need for testing for oral sex.

It helps no one here by pushing your inaccurate statments and trying to create parnoia of oral sex because your unable to deal with it yourself.

Just read the expert forums, every oral sex risk is given the same answer and for thoses that continue to test all have the same outcome - negative

not one expert on this site has ever told anyone to test for oral sex ever. All the doctors agree its not a risk of hiv.

To add, you were told in August you had no risk and did not need to test. You ingnored that advise and this is the outcome. Why your asking for advise is confusing as its quiet clear you have no intention of listening to anything other than your own paranoia.

How you choose to deal with this is up yo you, but if you have learned anything then you will listen to the advise in the thread you posted, if you havnt then you will continue with this self induced paranoia. Hopfully your logic will take over.

This a classic cases of self inflicted issues,

You had no risk yet decided to test and you got a false positive for your efforts. You wanted to have somthing to worry about and you got it. Moral is be carefull what you wish for.

Their is nothing much else to add because everyone has answered your thread already. You next test will confirm your status.
