Such anxiety

Hey Recently I got ill I had fever, headache, sore ears, chest pain, swollen glands in my neck and oral thrush which I think contributed to my sore throat and cough. I'm so scared about having gotten HIV from a silly mistake I made about 6 weeks prior to this. The reason i'm so worried is because the thrush has yet to clear.... I don't know if the medication wasn't strong enough or something but i'm so scared. I've made a step towards getting tested and that was by ordering a HIV test and then I will follow up with this by going to a clinic. I'm so scared. I'm only 19 and this is all I can think about. The Guy I slept with recently gave blood from what I know of. However if he wasn't HIV positive then why have I still got Oral Thrush :(. I've never been one of those girls who has been very sexually dangerous. I had not had sex for two years until I met this guy i'm just so worried.

Your exposure barely qualifies as a risk. HIV is a rare disease that is difficult to catch so you don't need to worry about one-time exposures like this.

Since it has been 6 weeks, have an HIV test now, the results will be highly accurate. If you want to be extra safe, follow up with a confirmation test at 3 months. You can expect negatives.

Also I had a really dry mouth and kept drinking a lot which made my mouth more dry to be honest. Could this of increased the thrush happen?

I did also have antibiotics during the time I was ill which I had a reaction to.
