Had sex with a prostitute using a Spermicidal condom and now feeling crazy....

I never had sex before and one month ago I had sex with a prostitute. The oral went for 2 min and I had condom (Trojan Spermicidal one) during the oral as well as vaginal.  I am not sure after taking off the condom I did washed my hand or not. I might have touched my penis and after 3 weeks I came to know tht I am infected with HPV virus which causes the genital warts. I am now worried about HIV. I am sure that I am not drunk that time and also the condom did not break, but after getting this HPV i am bothered that there might be a hole on my condom which I am not sure (it did not break thou) if I touch the condom and touch my genitals will the hpv or any other virus gets transfered apart from skin to skin contact.

I had a small cut beside my finger tip which is a day or two old. I happened to touch the condom with my left hand which has this cut. I am not sure if I did wash my hand or not, will there be any possibility for the virus to transfer. I heard that the transmission takes place thru the fresh cuts or sores. But since my cut is like a day or two old and also its not a very deep cut. It has traces of blood over the top, but just wanted to check with there be any problem if I touch the condom as soon as I take it from the vagina. The women is a sex worker and also I am not sure if she has HIV.

I also got to know that Spermicidal condoms dont provide protection is it so? I used the spermicidal ones only and I read in the internet saying that they wont provide much protection for AIDS and STDs. I used the condom. I believe that I hav a small cut on my penis, its not bleeding thou. Please let me know if this is going to be an issue. That is a latex condom. Now I am having a sore throat since one week and it did not go away. I went to colorado and came yesterday I still have the sore throat its cold out there. I am not sure of the hPV virus and also the symptoms. The sore throat is not of Strep as I got the test done. Please tell me what should I do.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum.
First of all I would like to say that you did not put yourself at risk of HIV infection as you used a condom for all sexual practices.  As far as I know, the condom that you used is safe and should protected you against STDs.  HPV is extremely common and it is one of the infections that can be transmitted even with a condom as it only requires skin to skin friction.  This is not the case with HIV.
Therefore I do not believe that the sore throat has anything to do with HIV sero-conversion and you should not worry about this.  However if you continue worrying, it might be worth you getting tested with a HIV Duo or Combo test anytime from now.  I am convinced that the result will be negative, whcih will give you the peace of mind that you require.
Best wishes,
Dr José

Doctor,

I forgot to mention before in the previous posting that I also had a rash or small bumps on my body for 10 days almost two weeks after the encounter. I am very much worried about what will happen to me. I am still having the sore throat and in times I am feeling my hands are legs have lost sensitivity or feeling tired in the evenings. I feel, I have fever but in reality I do not have anything. So please tell me what could all these be. THe bumps on my penis are almost about to cure but still curious and anxious.

Can you tell me this, Can I contract HPV or someother virus when I touch the condom having the viginal fluids and touch my penis? Please let me know. THanks in advance.
