Another weird illness

I'm back again.  The May thing wasn't HIV.  Sorry about this but back in August I gave a few guys blow jobs.  None of them came in my mouth but I did taste precum.  At the end of the month and into September, I developed a weird illness.  The first day it was a sore throat and coughing and hacking up green phlegm in small amounts, sometimes it had blood in it when it came from the top of my throat.  I had a slight fever of 99.7.  It may have been a little higher, but never over 100.  My nick was also very stiff the first day.  One the second day, my throat was still sore and coughing up green phlegm, but the stiffness and temperature were gone.  I did notice that my arms were red and warm but didn't think much of it because it didn't look like the mac. pap. rash associated with ARS.  By the evening I had developed laryngitis and basically lost my voice, or most of it anyway and coughing up wads of phlegm, really bad int he morning.  It was like this for about a week.  My lymph nodes weren't swollen, or at least not that I could feel.  I did notice that the sore throat started to rotate.  First it would be on the right side then the left side, Sometimes it would be upper left, then lower left and vice versa.  Like I said weird.  Anyway, it's now October and since THIS illness, my lymph nodes in my groin, mostly my right side are swollen, aching, at times stinging, and I have serious weight loss in my butt.  My arms are still red and I feel fatigued.  Was what I experienced in August-September ARS concurrent with bacterial laryngitis, or was this just a bacterial infection of the throat and I'm now letting fear and anxiety cause all these symptoms?  Getting really scared here.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post.
Performing oral sex on a man can pose a possible risk of HIV infection, though this is very low, and mainly only with ejaculation in the mouth.  Precum alone is very unlikely to infect as the amount would be so low that it would be neutralised by your saliva.  Symptoms are non-specific and would not be consistent with HIV sero-conversion alone, much more likely to be related to another cause.  However it is important that you get tested for throat Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, as well as syphilis, as some of the symptoms could be consistent with one of these, and performing oral sex does pose a risk to these STDs.  From the poitn of view of HIV, I am glad that you ahve been tested.  I am pretty confident that the result will be negative, for the reason already mentioned.
Best wishes,
Dr José
