the risk of get infected with hiv

Dear Doctor,
I am looking for your kind help with regards to my concerns on hiv infection.  I met a boy four  month ago, and we did not have anal sex and no body touch as well.  The only risk that comes to my mind is that he jerked off in front of me.  Lack of caution, my mouth was open and some semen (i would say, maybe two thirds) went into my mouth.  I spitted all and have gargle asap, but I am not sure if my oral situation is good at that time (eg. ulcers, abrasions and the like).  The last time is he jerked off in front of me, I closed my mouth and semen come to my face.  I washed the face with liquid soap asap.
These two incidents make feel quite worried and I book a test in the coming week. I counted everyday and searching for all possible information/ existing research outcome on line, with no significant answer.
I sincerely look for your kind suggestion and I thank you very much for your time and patience.

Hello

I think you will be absolutely fine.

You are correct - there is a small risk of HIV acquisition if you get infected semen in the mouth - but it is a very small risk indeed and of course zero if the other person is not infected at all.

I would suggest that if you remain concerned you should take an HIV DUO or 4th generation HIV antibody and p24 antigen test at 28 days after the event.

As I say, I think you will be fine, kind regards, Sean
