Dear Doctor,
Thank you for the answer. The test was an ELISA p24 ANTIGEN COMBO. Is this accurate at 11 weeks (77days exactly) after exposure?
Regards.
Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and apologies for not replying sooner.
In my experience, I can assure you that there is no risk of HIV infection from receiving oral sex, even in the case of a possible exposure to supposedly more aggressive subtypes. There is a theoretical risk only for the person performing the oral sex, especially if there is ejaculation, but this is still very low.
This fact has been confirmed with your negative test result at 11 weeks, whcih can be considered conclusive.
Best wishes,
Dr José
11 week test negative. Is this conclusive? Any doctors here?
Dear Doctor. Any comments please. Regards
WebMD states that it IS possible to get HIV from unprotected oral sex?
I have posted this on the HIV Prevention forum:
"Dear all,
I know you have answered my question, but I have found far too much literature that suggests HIV transmission is possible for the insertive partner during oral sex. I am not in a location that provides HIV testing at this stage. This is the only site I have found that says NO RISK?
Sorry again. I respect your opinions but I need advise please. "
