Hi doctor, Really worried...

Doctor,

I had a sexual encounter with a man i don't know. We kept contact. He gave me oral for 3 minutes. He turned around and wanted me to poke his anus wich i did, I did not see where the head of my penis was going but i have not felt it in.  I don't know if it was dipping without me realizing it. On my penis i had candida on the shaft of my penis and near the urethra. I had been masturbating before getting with him so it was already irritated. After our sex, i felt a tingly burning sensation in the urethra that stayed for 2 days and then gone. 9 days after, I got tired but not in a way i usually get tired, now i'm sleeping 3 hours a day (stress) and not tired as i was 9 day after the encounter. I had sorethroat, enlarge lymphenode, and malaise each time i was eating. I lost alot of weight and also my appetite. For a day or 2 i got frequent urination, that would wake me up at night. My leg were so tired. I had chills at some point of the day and it is kind of hot over here, my feet and hand would be freezing. At night i would wake up in a sweat and be freezing, but i haven't felt any fever. I had more candida on my penis, and a white tongue, i showed my tongue to a doctor, he told me it is candida. I have no diabete and did not take antibiotics. I did a test Elisa, don't know wich generation, at 4 and 5 weeks and they came back negative. After i have got all these symptoms, i contacted the guy and comfronted with this, he didnt denie the fact that he did not have hiv. Since then i have been very stressed, and sometimes i would wake up at night hearing my heart racing, i was tired and my social life got affected. Those symptoms went a week and a half later all together.

1. What is my risk of infection?
2. My elisa test is it reliable?
3. Can stress afect the imune system to the point to not get detected at 5 week? (Normally i dont get sick often)
4. If i got a real flu after ars symptom(when ars symtom went away, i went to a rafting, got a runny nose)

Hello Ricki

Thanks for the clarification.

No, a urine infection would not affect your chances of a a correct test result.

I think the doctor you saw and the advice given was good and sensible - the 3rd generation test at around 6 weeks = 40 days - would be greater than 99% reliable. I agree entirely with him.

best wishes, Sean

Thank you doctor for your answer,

What i ment, if i had a  urinary tract infection during my seroconvertion, will it affect my 5 week test?

I asked for the test, it is a 3rd generation elisa. I took the test at 40 days from the encounter, it came back negative, now that we know the generation, is it reliable? The place where i took the test told me i should not worry and normally it would have show if i had it, he told me to test at 3 month but there is a small small chance that chances. Is it true?

Thank you these will be my last question

Thank you doctor

Hello Ricki

You've asked:-

1. What is my risk of infection?

I would think very low indeed. You will not acquire HIV through being sucked. If you did penetrate him without knowing that might put you at risk but I don't believe you did penetrate him from what you say. The tests you have had are very reassuring but as you say we don't know the generation etc so I'm not able to comment with certainty.

2. My elisa test is it reliable?

See answer 1 above.

3. Can stress afect the imune system to the point to not get detected at 5 week? (Normally i dont get sick often)

No - if you're HIV infected then stress will not influence the tests

4. If i got a real flu after ars symptom(when ars symtom went away, i went to a rafting, got a runny nose)

I'm sorry I don't understand this question.

best regards, Sean
