Symptoms, tests

35 days ago I got a massage and handjob at a parlor. There was no sex/penetration. She never even undressed.
I felt symptoms after 4 days so I got tested after 8 days. It was negative. After 10 days I felt 3 mildly swollen lymph nodes in my neck. I went to a virologist who told me it was all fine.

I couldnt handle the anxiety.  I was feeling random aches and pains all over my body. I went back to the virologist who told me there was no HIV riks (similar to what Dr Sean Cummings told me) but suggested I get tested for peace of mind. He mentioned that the test that they had in that hospital was 99.3% acurate after 21 days and I was at 25 days. So I got tested and it was negative. The  virologist told me that I was never at risk (my biggest worry were if there cuts present in the masseuse's hands and my body) and that I do not need any further testing.

2 days later I caught a cold. I had nasal congestion. In a few days I had only 2 swollen lymph nodes but suddenly another one got swollen. The night before I had tonsils that had started hurting.

At 33 days I visited a GP who gave me antibiotics for my lymph nodes. Its been 2 days out of the 5 day course but there isnt any difference in the swelling. I also get intermittent headaches. It has been a hard month. Till a week back I was getting regular panic attacks and had high blood pressure out of anxiety.

My question is whether I need further HIV testing. The virologist mentioned no testing but I have read that the window period is 3 months. Could all my symptoms have anything to do with HIV ?

Good Morning

I've looked at Jose's response and I don't see any room for doubt.

"There was no risk of HIV in the first place; therefore there was no need to be tested.  Your symptoms are irrelevant and have nothing to do with HIV.
No need to have any further tests.
Forget about it and move on."

Very clear.

best regards, Sean

Dear Doc

Thank you for your answer.

Though I would say that I am almost 100% convinced that I was at no risk, I really can not fathom why all these multiple health issues (head aches, body ache, cold, lymph node swellings) have come up after this episode.

I really want to believe the rational conclusion that I was not at risk, but these symptoms and more importantly their timing put a doubt in my mind. Could you please share your thoughts on this. I will ask no more questions. Thank you.

Hello,
There was no risk of HIV in the first place; therefore there was no need to be tested.  Your symptoms are irrelevant and have nothing to do with HIV.
No need to have any further tests.
Forget about it and move on.
