Hello,
Thank you for your post. From the description of your sexual encounter, if a condom was used for the oral sex, there is no risk of an STD, and even less HIV as there is no risk from receiving a blow job, even if she was positive and had not used a condom. Spanish bar condoms come from dispensers that usually sell reputable brands and they are always safe. You definitely do not need to test for anything, and definitely not for HIV. But if you still want to get tested, I am sure that the tests offered in Sweden as good as in any other Western European country. A Duo test including antibodies and p24 antigen is the one you should ahve if you are having it soon, at least after 28 days of the event. I still reiterate that you do not need it.
Don't you think that the flu-like and cold symptoms that you had are more likely going to be as a consequence of the heavy partying and drinking? Those symptoms happened far too early on for them to be anyhting to do with HIV seroconversion.
Best wishes,
Dr Jose
sorry should say 12 weeks not 24.
Whats the risk of a 30 days duo test being false negative?
Exposure oral, high risk.
Further testning need post 24 weeks?
"and even less HIV as there is no risk from receiving a blow job"
Would it also be regarded as a "no risk" if it was unprotected and that she besides HIV would have an other STD, like Herpes or Chlamydia?
