11weeks 3 days am i conclusive now???

ok heres my i had an exposure jan 18th 3 weeks after i had all the classic symptoms of ars

tested at 8 weeks rapid fingerprick hiv-1 hiv-2 negative
tested at 10 weeks 5 days rapid oral elisa negative
tested at 11 weeks 3 days hiv-1 hiv-2 elisa western blot negative

now my question is i have read a lot of threads on aidsmeds.com where people where negative then testing positive like a year later so since my last test wasnt actually 12/13 weeks do i need to go back at 13 weeks andthen 6 months or can i consider myself negative conclusive and move on with my life now?

It depends what month you are talking about febrary has 4 weeks, january 4.4 weeks, sou the average 3 month period has 12.8 to 13 weeks, but a 12 week test is known to be conclusive, the Drs here and in another forums havent hear of a test turning positive after a 6 week test, so just dont think about a test changing in 4 days. if you where in an ultra extremely rare case of seroconverting your Western Blot should have picked up at least one band making it and indeterminate and this didnt happen so you are negative as you can be.

You are negative, dont need to worry.

First of all your Dr. was wrong the western blot should`t been done, it only have to done if someone has a previous rapid or standart positive test, becouse some technical issue and rate of indeterminate results, but since you have it done, its conclusive, the diference of wetern blot and elisas is that Elisas search for a single or to hiv antibodies for determinate protein, for example 3rd generation elisas search for antibodies for 1 gag and 1 envelope protein, 1rst generation search for antibodies to only 1 gag protein, The Western Blot search for a total of 10 antibodies of the 3 types of proteins (gag, env and pol).  all the information relevant to this tests can be found at

Since you have a Western Blot Hiv1 -2   11 weeks and 3 days after exposure you are conclusive negative, no further test is needed, so forget about it, shut down your computer, dont waste more time searching on the internet for more worries, you are negative, move on.

Bye

I dont think anyone has tested negative at 11 weeks and then tested positive.

so people have tested negative and then positive a year later?

When did they test negative and does this make a mockery of the testing system then or are they just faking it?

it is super highly unlikely that you have HIV after all these negative tests. 12/13 weeks is a standard followed and i gues ofr peace of mind you just go ahead and take one ...
impossible that the result will change.

its better to get it out of the way than have this question nagging you forever... it will be negative

The difference between an ELISA and a Western blot is that the ELISA is the preliminary test used to identify HIV infection, while the western blot is used as a confirmatory test. One must test positive on both to be diagnoses as HIV positive.
