12.5 week/87 days Negative

Teak/All:

Today I received a negative hiv1/2 at 12.5/87days.  From all that I have read, even by CDC standard, WHO, and Dr.HHH, this is conclusive.

I have learned alot while going through this ordeal.  Not just about HIV but about myself and human nature.  Its so easy to think rationally when its not your fat on the hot seat...but for a while I, one of the most rationaly people I know and cool under presure was a basket case.  I therefore, empathize and will visit from time to time to help calm WWs like myself when really I want to run from this site like it was a burning building.  I realize and will emphasize that I am not an expert but sometimes I think people just need to hear rational thought and comforting reassuring conversation.

Thanks to those of you who dedicate so much time and energy... Teak, Peekawho, monkeflower and the lot... your compassion and patience and sometimes just being here is a God sent for others.

I am relieved but will not cheer until the cure...or at least until this horrible disease is reclassified as a chronic illness.

Without a doubt my sex life is damaged...but maybe for the better.  We learn the most from the deepest pains.

God bless.

I'm very happy for you!
I don't know if it will make you cheer, but actually these days HIV is a chronic illness.
I feel the pain for people living with AIDS, but for the most part, with timely detection and adhering to medication, HIV has become a chronic, but manageble condition.
And things will get better in the near future, no doubt.
Stay well!

I echo the same sentiment.  I realized that anyone, I mean anyone can have a lapse in judgement.  I prided myself on always being the "responsible one".  I learned so much from my ordeal.  I was on vacation when my episode went down.  I have also learned that there is much more out here than just HIV/AIDS.  Most importantly, I realized that I am totally responsible for my well being and health.  While I am still experiencing some symptoms, I have somewhat learned to relax, eat healthier and return to exercising.  I've also learned that Doctors do not have the answer to alot of health concerns.  I will continue to visit this site from time to time as well.  My Prayers are with everyone whom find themself in a similar situation.  I also pray for a cure soon.
