3 Month Test

Just had an Oraquick test (finger stick) done at 90 days and it was negative.  My question is that I have genital herpes, and am wondering if this would effect my test.  Am I negative or should I retest in 3 more months?

There are no reports of oral transmission of HIV in the medical literature and studies have been done on long term serodicordant couples.

Extremely worried.  I know that my negative 89 day Oraquick test is suppose to be conclusive (last sexual encounter with ejaculation was on 1/11/08-I'm a woman).  But as I said I gave him oral sex on 2/1 with ejaculation in mouth but did not swallow...spit out and rinsed.  This has me worried because I have had major sinus issues and swollen lymph nodes on my neck for 2 months...never had this before.  I did go to an ENT and he prescribed Avelox 400 mg and it doesn't seem to be working.  I have a follow up appt. to see him on 4/23 and am FRIGHTENED!!!  I'm afraid that he is going to suspect HIV.  Should I go and test on 5/1?  Please someone provide me with some advice.

Thank you for your response, didn't mean to upset you.  Just was wondering of the oral on 2/1...read that it could be a risk.

You've been told you don't need further testing. You have a conclusive test result.

Just went and had an Oraquick at 89 days and it was negative thank God  My last sexual encounter was on 1/11/08.  But Planned Parenthood again suggested that I return in 3 months because of the oral sex on 2/1 which was with ejaculation...did not swallow.  Is this necessary?

So my 3/27/08 Oraquick test was not conclusive.  I guess I have no choice but to test in 2 more weeks.  Do you think that this last negative test was a good sign?  I have had this chronic ear infection with one swollen lymph node and am freaking out!

you could test now...as most ppl will show a positive result at this point if they were indeed infected...but according to the guidelines...three months is conclusive.

your call...

Need some grounding.  I had unprotected sex on 12/28/07 and 1/11/08 and got the Oraquick done 30 days after the 12/28/07 encounter which was negative, thank God.  Did I test too soon?  Should I retest in April '08?

That Planned Parenthood is not up to date on the testing guidelines, 3 months is conclusive and no further test is needed.

Thank you.  But why does planned parenthood want me to retest in July '08 - 6 months?  I was very relieved at first and now I am back in panic mode.  They said 100% is 6 months.
