We really can't give magic words of assurance since it's a valid risk.

Just stay strong and be open to whatever comes in your way. In life, the only assurance we have is to have confidence that we have the strength to deal with anything that comes to our way.

agree. You DO NOT GAMBLE WITH YOUR LIFE.

Please get tested at Week 6 after having unprotected sex. Testing is a fairly quick process nowadays.

If it turns out negative please USE CONDOMS and avoid risky behavior!

It's not automatic because there are so many factors to consider like the viral load of the person and the fact that if vaginal secretions actually entered your bloodstream.

It's really a game of chance.

having UNprotected sex with someone and not knowing their status, sets up the potential for you to acquire not only hiv, but other stds as well.

a test at 6-8 weeks post exposure will give you a very good indication of your status...and at that point the result is unlikely to change.   follow up at 3 months for a conclusive result.

having sex with someone who is hiv + does not mean automatic infection...but the ONLY way to know one's status is by testing.
