3 months

When the window period is mentioned as 3 months, 84 days or 90 days are meant?

your test PROVES...without a doubt...that you do NOT have hiv ! ! !

further testing is NOT needed.

when you truly accept your negative status...all anxiety produced symptoms will disappear.

kindly move along...you do not have a hiv concern.

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

Clinic is asking me to take a PCR and/or a test at 6 months again to be sure.
I am feeling I will die in fear and anxiety before that.
How many times will I test , it is so ... to wait for test, get tested and see the result...
Can anyone help me ...i don;t know how ...but can you ..by any means....

Sure you're HIV negative. Then those symptoms have nothing to do with HIV, they could be caused by your fear and/or another disease. No need of further HIV tests for you.

I have done the CMIA duo test (p24 antigen and hiv1/2 antibody) again on 91st day . It came negative.Earlier I got the negative from the same test on 75th day.
I still feel muscle , joint pain and weekness specially in legs and back since last one and half months , I also had sore throat but it is not there anymore.
Am I still under risk ?

Look, test again in 2 weeks and be done with it.Put your mind at ease. How are we supposed to answer a question like that.3 months allows enough time to detect the latent seroconverters.

Yes I understand that.
As I am in not in a good mental state presently , just trying to ***** the risk/chance.
Just want to know if anyone has seen or heard any such case where a 75th day negative turned out to be positive after 12 weeks provided the individual doesn't follow in the category of those people who are already immunosuppressed, cancer patient etc.

Its highly unlikely like you have already been advised but is possible thats why theres a window period of 3 months.

Hi Teak,
Can I test HIV positive after even received a negative CMIA ( duo ) test at 75th day?
My exposure was a single unprotected vaginal sex with an unknown partner.

Extremely unlikely to change if the one at 75 days negative but you still need to follow up.

Is 8 days before 84th day , i.e. a test ( duo test ) on 75th day is conclusive and if not what is the chance that result change to positive in 8 days?
