What are the odds, I'm terrified!!!!

I'm absolutely terrified. I know the risks are lower, BUT I (I am a female) gave rough oral sex to an unknown 23 year old man and got semen in my mouth. He says he tested negative. But what if he's lying and never got tested? I had a sore throat/swollen glands 2 days afterwards but nothing since.  I also bit the inside of my cheek earlier that day so I had a sore in my mouth the day I gave oral!!! OMG I'm freaking out!!! I try telling myself that the risks are low. But I can barely concentrate!!!!!!!!! Its been 28 days an no symptoms since. I read that 70% get symptoms within 2-4 weeks. Do you think my odds are low cuz its past the 2-4 week period? I don't want to get tested. I can't stand the thought of this!!!!!!!!! Anxiety is consuming my life right now and can't even concentrate at work! My life will be ruined. I regret this terribly.

You only require common STD testing & not for HIV,you never had a risk.Saliva contains many powerful proteins & enzymes that render the HIV virus inactive & thus unable to infect you.

I agree with joe 147. I had a high risk exposure with some one who is positive and had a very high viral load at the time of my exposure. I let my fears rule my life for years afterwards. I literally became disabled and could not work for 6 months from symptoms that had no organic cause. I spent thousands of dollars on bloodwork and neuro health testing.  I still have lingering issues with my joints and muscles and a ton of medical bills.  If I had received professional counciling right away, I would have avoided this tragic chapter in my life. Please get counciling before you start chasing your tail. Life is to short don't waste anymore time.

Odd ate extremely low essentially non existent. I too have had similar fears and have had to really educate myself. Hiv is killed by enzymes in your saliva. This is why there have been no reported cases such as this. Be careful with anxiety. It can cause symptoms that weren't there to manifest out of nowhere. These might include dizziness , headache, body aches through neck and chest, diarrhea, unfocused forgetful lethargic feeling. A good person spoke to me about Hypochondriasis. I found all my symptons there, look it up. Are you feeling any of them. You'll be ok. Font worry. Don't let this take over your life it will as you said make you absolutely miserable. You were not at risk.

I'm not doctor but I have read so much about HIV transmission the last two months. HIV transmission throug oral sex does not occur because the saliva contains enzymes that kill the HIV virus. There isn't even any statistics on this that I have read about.
