ARE THE TESTS RELIABLE_ I HAD AN EXPOSURE WITH AN HIV POSITIVE LADY

Medhelp medical staff I have been experiencing considerable health problems 4 months after bing involved with a lady I had known for only a month.After we went for a quick hiv blood drop test she was declared positive -but i am testing negative.She tested again at the dr and was confirmed to be positive for Hiv 1._ i had unprotected sex with he a few times before getting ill but what is surprising is that im testing negative...I am very worried becose i still think the test is not accurate..do you know if South Africa uses 4th generation tests.....im extremely worried..about my situation..cant function...and hav been away from work

So testing at 6 months is no longer required, even in a risk with a positive person?

If you tested 3 months post exposure and received a negative result you don't have HIV.
