ARS RASH VERY VERY SCARED

I have had about 4 unpretected vaginal exposures over a course of 4-5 years. I have never been tested. I have had multiple oral exposures all that i have been on the receptive end of as well. My girlfriend developed a rash on her breasts (both) which spread to other parts of her body (back, arm and neck) but not as bad as on her chest. The rash is slightly itchy. She had wisdom tooth surgery almost 4 weeks ago and 1 day after she noticed the rash (she was not on any medication for the surger). It stayed for a week and a half and her Primary care doctor gave her an oral steriod (methylprednisolone). a couple of days later the rash went away. 3 days after her last dose the rash has come back and is still spreading. We are getting tested but are so scared right now. No other symptome like fever or anything else that i have read about.

Can it come and go with the medicine she took?

She developed the rash aprox Dec 5th and still has it.

PLEASE PLEASE Give us any information you can. Thank you!

Rash and fever have nothing to do with each other. Someone can have both, either one, neither.

Thanks for all your information (everyone)

Still going to the Dermo, but it makes us feel a little more at ease for sure.

You mentioned fever from ARS, can i ask:

Is th ARS rash usually because of the high fever and other symptoms during ARS or can the rash occur with no fever and other symptoms at all?

I have read rash without fever equals something other then ARS.

Correct, just like if they have a fever it comes on and will not go away with treatment.

Rashes can be from so many things can't speculate.

Vance, Thank you, i thought you might have...two last questions, once someone develops a true ARS rash the duration of the rash could be 1-2 weeks but then NO steroid or antibiotic can shorten that period up, the person just has the rash until it goes away on its own correct?

Are you familiar with any other rash that resembles an ARS rash that would respond to such a drug?

Thank you once again.

Hi Vance...I wasn't asking what medicine to use...just saying she used methylprednisolone and the rash went away and came back a week later when she was off the methylprednisolone. I just wasnt sure if Teak meant there was no way a steroid would mask or make a true ARS rash, which is why we believe it;s frm something else.

We are seeing a Dermo, just needed to talk to some one before we go.

Thanks!

We can't tell you medication to use. We can't diagnosis you on a rash. See a Dr.

Teak or another educated individual,

Is what i said about the steroid methylprednisolone correct?

Sorry if i may have mis-understood.

Thanks.

Teak, Thank you...your information goes without say...online you see so many different replies it can scare just about anyone. I now inderstand that for a rash caused by something else a strong steroid like methylprednisolone would help since it is prescribed for viral infections, but the complexity or ARS rash would not respond to such a drug.

I wish you a Happy New Year.

She has said is not really itchy just sometimes certain spots have a little itch to them...i uderstand we need to be tested for sure. What about the methylprednisolone making the rash go away...is that possible?

Thanks!

ARS rashes don't itch. You need to test to know your status.
