Accuracy of HIV test after 4 weeks?

Hello, I would greatly appreciate any advice.

I originally posted on the STD forum but I wanted to ask a follow up on this forum as I have recently developed symptoms consistent with HIV.

It started as a sore throat yesterday and is now a full blown fever. The sore throat remains as well as aches and pains particualry in my back although my whole body is aches and i have the shakes and shivers. I also have stomach pains. Moreover I have developed a  rash on my back.

I am really beside myself with this and my mental health is deteriorating. I am frequently breaking down in the bathroom and am gripped with fear of losing my wife and kids, destroying our family and my lives ones lives.

Four weeks ago, I was on a bachelor party and stupidly had an alcohol fuelled threesome with 2 prostitutes. This was in a legal European brothel that seemly offered sex on an industrial scale so I am sure these were two very high risk people.

I had sexual intercourse with both girls and wore a condom throughout. Also in an alcohol induced moment of madness, I performed unprotected oral sex on one of the girls including rimming.

I struggle to explain my behaviour except to say that I have a long standing problem with alcohol that causes me to make very poor decisions an I found myself in a dangerous environment and made a very poor decision.

I feel a sense if deep shame, this is the first time I have had sex with prostitutes and the first time I have had sex outside of marriage.

Due to work commitments I had planned to go for a full STD check at the beginning of June. However these new symptoms have me  a nervous and emotional wreck and I really have to know now (if possible) if I have a serious STD such as HIV. I cannot look my kids in the eye without feeling like I'm going to lose them and the damage I may have done to their lives.

If I were to get tested this week how accurate would the results be in terms of
HIV? I have read that 4 weeks is too soon?

I have also read that there are new more accurate tests but as I like in the UK and will be using the NHS I assume their testing methods will be the traditional methods rather than a new fancy next gen test.

I'm sorry to go on and on but I am in a dark dark place right now.

The Medhelp doctors doctor's don't give the approvals for the tests nor do they work for a government entity that does.

I dont get you. You are happy to state zero risk of oral sex HIV transmission, but not willing to accept 99+% accuracy on a HIV DUO Test

Even the doctors on Medhelp states that is considered 100% reliable...

strange.

There are no tests marketed or sold to give a conclusive negative test result earlier than 3 months post exposure.

Almost all of Europe medicial officials will state that 4 weeks after exposure the HIV Combi test is accurate.

Even this forum own doctors state same - see:

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/HIV---Prevention/HIV1--HIV2-Antibodies--Combo-Test-Includes-p24-Antigen/show/1004810

As Dr. Hansfield state:

The combo test, which detects both HIV antibody and p24 antigen, is considered virtually 100% reliable at 4 weeks.

other example from Medhelp - on 4 weeks accuracy on Combi test:

You are absolutely right and I apologise if the wording of the post caused offence. I fully acknowledge that it was my own choices that put me in this position.

Do you have any comment with regard to the accuracy of HIV test after 4 weeks? Or any other comment on my symptoms. The rash on my back is worsening and I still have a fever, sore throat and aches and pains.

Thank you for replying.
