You want to know your status for your own health.
I know she was a virgin because I can feel it. Now I decided to get married with her, no matter any disease, so I don't think I have to take the test before the premarital check-up. what do you think?
doesn't sound like you had a risk (g/f a virgin and not a iv drug user)
if you are concerned...just have a simple antibody test done at 6-8 weeks post exposure and follow up at 3 months for a conclusive result.
3 Months post exposure is the only time you can obtain a conclusive test result after an exposure.
AN RNA at 2 weeks,A DUO at 4 weeks or an antibody test at 3 months.
Symptoms can not be used to diagnose HIV.
ARS symptoms appear 2-4 weeks after exposure and they do not stay for long...it occurs in 50% of people seroconverting (hence not everyone)
and in most girls, you would know for sure if she was a virgin (the bleeding of hymen) although this does not occur with most girls...
I will assume you got the risk
1) get a PCR test at 11 days mark, if possible. (99% accurate)
2) if not PCR, get and HIV DUO or Combo test (fourth generation) at 4-6 weeks, if possible (99.89% accurate)
3) get any type of HIV test at 12 weeks mark (getting an official conclusive result)
in health,
Hi,
Having been overly concerned with an exposure myself that everyone says is non risk I've come to familiarize myself with many of the facts regarding symptoms. As I've been told many times over symptoms are never a good indicator. The slightest symptom can raise your anxiety level which in turn can cause more symptoms. ARS as I've been told cant start sooner than 10 days.
