Antibodies or Virus

My question is...If you get a antibody test at 12 weeks and it comes back negative, will you need to get a test for the virus since its 2 different tests.

Thanks

You were never at a risk of HIV. Oral sex (protected or unprotected) is a NO RISK behavior. You did not need any test for that. Your test will always be negative because you were never exposed

Good news omar....I had a test for 2 possible exposures at 13 weeks for one episode of oral sex on me and another at 10 weeks for also oral sex.  I am going to can the 12 week test for the 2 possible exposure.  Don't think the test is going to change in 2 weeks.

An Antibody test done after 3 months mark, is final and conclusive. No further testing is needed anymore

No ! All the screening tests detect antibodies. If antibodies are absent (negative test) how come the virus would exist?

Viral load tests (detecting virus directly) are not the primary screening tests but ordered for those living with HIV, in conjunction with other tests to follow up and monitoring of treatment efficacy.
