Blood contacted a scratch on my skin, any risks?

Dear Sir,

I tried to help a girl from hurting herself. She kept bashing her hand on the road. They was bleeding. In trying to help her, she scratched me (red gashes on the skin) on the arm. Her blood had contacted the scratches on my arm. Any risks of Hepatitis or HIV from such an incident if she is infected? I came to know she is a drug addict and was very depressed.

Thanks Teak. Ok, I think I understand this better now. The scratches that this girl made on my arm can also be referred to as welts (A welt can be a red bump, ridge or swelling of unbroken skin). Even though the skin is red, it is still unbroken (ie not actively bleeding), and thus the danger of contracting HIV or HCV from the scenario is not possible.

Thanks guys. The best way I can describe these scratches are when you get scratched by your dog when he is excited to see you. They are red marks left by the dog's nails, but no active bleeding. The big question is if HIV and HCV from infected blood can get thru to one's blood stream via this kind of injury.

Thanks Vance. She is not my girlfriend. Don't know her very well. I was worried about my own health as I didn't want to put my own love ones at risk of anything. I will see what I can do with those 2 points you listed. Much appreciated.

I dont believe the scratch was deep.
It did not even bleed or swell.
They were like reddish bruising under the epidermis.
The redness got fader with time, disappeared post-20hours from the incident.
So I don't know if this constitutes an open wound. It does not even look like the epidermis tore. The incident was about 20 hours ago, and the redness is close to unnoticeable now (arm skin looks normal). I am vaccinated against hep a and b, thus worried about hep c and HIV transmission from the incident.
The blood from her bleeding knuckles contacted my skin after I got scratched.
