Bodybuilding & HGH

Hello Doc,

Last night after working out at the gym my friend offered me Human Growth Hormones.  After declining i stupidly said yes.  We went to the bathroom stall and he proceeded to inject me, he pulled back and realized he hit a vein so pulled out and was going to retry.  At this point i realized roids is not a good idea and i told him i was gonna pass.

Did i get aids?

Thanks,

Curt

You have to get HIV before you get AIDS. If it was used works that have been used then you put yourself at risk and will need to test.

It was the same bottle he used but I am not sure about the needle because the outside looked clean.  if the outside of needle is clean is that all i need to worry about? Is that what you mean by used works?

Also, i declined to take the needle so i did not take the roids inside my body.  Does this matter at all?

No it's the inside of the needle. Had the other person use the syringe and received a flashback? Ask the guy if it was new and unused or not.

Sorry Doctor but i am not sure what you mean by flash back.  Can you please explain.  So the flashback (not sure what it is) on the inside of the needle causes a risk to me?

How do you know you got a vein?

i am not sure, thats what he said.  I think the needle was the same because he had only one in his gym bag.

Doc, i am sorry but i am not very familiar with these terms and exactly how to tell when i get a vein.

Test at 3 months for a conclusive test result.

Doc, i am going to be out of the country in about 3.5 weeks.  Can i test before leaving, would that be of any help?

Also can you tell me if i am at a great risk even without taking the roids because he pulled out?

A test at 3 months is conclusive. Testing sooner in like 3 weeks will not do much for you.

Do you think i had a high risk if my friend was hiv pos even thought i asked him to remove the needle and not give me the roids?

Would 3.5 week test give me any type of idea, i mean do people ever test positive at that time?

What is the avg time for people to turn positive?

I can't really say if the risk was high, don't know any type of percentage or anything like that, but it would be blood to blood inside the body so there is a risk.

3.5 would at best give about 50% of perople test positive by then.

Not sure about average time but by 6 weeks 90%+ will test positive

Thank You very very much Vance, you were extremely helpful.  I think the 3 week test would atleast give me some idea of my situation.

My last question would be - even with the pull out of the needle without any of the actual subtance going into my body poses a blood to blood contact situation?

Dr. Teak,

Since you were the first to respond to my questions, would you be able to advise me.  Atleast it will help me sleep better.  Just from what you know what you think?

Thanks,

James that is going to have to be your call. Would I test if I had done that? Yes.. Better to be safe than sorry. I do believe you will come out of it okay since no infusion took place.
