Boyfriend had one night stand... HIV risk?

Hi - my boyfriend had a one night stand without using a condom before dating me and didn't tell me until after we started having sex without condoms. Putting the fact that he didn't tell me aside, he got tested once (this was about 2 months after his one night stand) then tested again at 3 months. Both times he came back negative.

About a month ago I went and got myself tested - this is about 5 months after we started having sex without condoms and I am also negative.

My worry is the "what if" - with his two negative tests and mine are we good to go? Even if he was HIV positive this doesn't mean i'd be positive right off the bat?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I am also concerned that I have developed an HIV phobia... what now?

thanks.

your boyfriends test was conclusive at 3 months, proving that he does not have hiv.

It's very rare for anyone to take longer than three months. Had your boyfriend been hospitalize over and over again he would have know that he might need to test longer.
