Canker Sore - Early HIV?

Does anyone get canker sores in Primary HIV infection, or do oral sores develop in the advanced stage?
I have developed a canker sore inside of my lip. Everyone keep saying that the fact that i had protected sex and tested negative at 6 weeks, should not worry me, but these new symptoms keep showing up week after week. :(

I have to agree with nonbeliever and uniquelymen here. Canker sores affect millions of people. Celibate nuns included. Oh and stay off the symptom search engines. They WILL wreck your head.

Canker sores have more to do with your currents diet and your overall oral health. You were protected, which means you don't need to pursue testing for hiv & std's from what you've said here.

Hi there,

Your "feeling worried" is understandable, I too went thru it last time....

It's only 2 more weeks, so hang in there.......

Meantime, do try to stay out of anymore internet searching, do more outdoor activities, if possible.  Time will pass more quickly these ways.

Cheers!

@Teak- Actually a lof of reliable medical sites do state that canker Sores have been linked to HIV/AIDS. But they do not state whether thats ARS or thats advanced HIV.
Hence my question - ARS or Late HIV?

@Uniquelymen
I have beent old that recurrent symptoms do not mean HIV, and my 10 month mark is too late for ARS.but cant help feeling worried :( . I will complete 12 weeks in another 2 weeks. Will go and get tested

Hi there,

Symptoms that keep showing up week after week are not Primary HIV Infection.

Anyway, one cannot base on signs and symptoms to link HIV infection. The only way to know if you are infected is to do a HIV blood test.

Canker sores have nothing to do with HIV.

Agreed. But just to answer the question - Does a canker sore occur during ARS or in late stages of hiv?

if you had protected sex...then your symptoms are not due to hiv.

protected sex = time to move on and put this behind you!
