Condom Query?

About 3 weeks ago I had sex with a CSW for the first time and I wore a condom for both oral and vaginal. However, I've read that condoms are not 100% effective in STD and HIV protection, even if it does not fail or slip off which I'm quite sure was my case. So, these "studies" and "expert's" opnions have caused me great concern as to the exposure level I put myself through. As a result I have not been able to sleep properly, have this sunburn sensation on my skin in particular neck, inner elbows and arms which come ang go, do not itch but, seem to be really dry skin. I also have been suffering from irregular bowl movements. As some of you may understand these "symptoms" have caused me some horrible scary feeling and thoughts. So, I'd like to ask some of the highly knowlegeable users of this forum to share their views on the risk I took, whether HIV virus (or any other STD for this matter) can pass through microscopic pores in condoms and whether one can clearly tell when a condoms has failed and how safe is "safe" sex.

I'd like to thank you in advance for taking the time to share your views with me.

****Please only reply if you have an indepth knowledge of HIV and its risks, transmissions, etc.****

The information you read is incorrect. You never had an exposure. Had the condom failed you would have known.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Including HIV Infection, Latex condoms, when used consistently and correctly, are highly effective in preventing the sexual transmission of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. In addition, consistent and correct use of latex condoms reduces the risk of other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including diseases transmitted by genital secretions, and to a lesser degree, genital ulcer diseases. Condom use may reduce the risk for genital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and HPV-associated diseases, e.g., genital warts and cervical cancer.

Laboratory studies have demonstrated that latex condoms provide an essentially impermeable barrier to particles the size of STD pathogens.
