Confimed Swollen lymph nodes!

I went to my ob-gyn today and she confirmed that I had swollen lymph nodes in my arms and neck. =(  Ugh, I hope it's not something serious.

Are the rapid blood test as accurate than the elisa?  Are both tests as antibody sensitive detecting as the other???

I know.  I've been refraining from touching them, and I told my doc about how they were sore and she felt them and said they were sore.

Thanks for you advice. =)

hello

this was my friends advise to me in the other forum just want to sare it with you clue.

I'll leave you with one last piece of wisdom.

Don't prod your nodes. Don't feel them, examine them or anything. Leave the blighters alone. Poking and prodding the dratted things makes them swell.

mtd

Thats he told me. hope you find it helpful

I think my nodes are swollen right now, I have a head cold and a stuffed nose and if I barely touch my neck I can feel that they are puffier than normal.

At least you know your swollen lymph nodes arent ARS related :) ITs too late for ARS to start.

My lymph nodes have been swollen for a while now.  I know they were swollen cause they are the same size as they've been for about a month now.  My ob-gyn confirmed the swollen lymph nodes in my neck and underarm.  She said it could be due to something else.  It's just weird that they've been swollen for such a long time. =(

I know.. but now I am starting to think that the traditional (waiting for 5-7 days) is better than the rapid test.

Your lymph nodes might be swollen because of the herpes virus.

Its not HIV, dont worry!  Your 9-week test proves it :)

Hah...I had a many different types of rapid tests (EIA, UniGold, OraSure Oral, 2 different take home kits). I really don't think it matters in 2007; as long as it's FDA approved and it's 12 weeks post 'exposure'. HOWEVER, I placed myself at risk again a couple of nights ago (broken rubber). I'm not sweating it because I firmly believe that the woman has an exceedinly low chance of HIV...I'm more worried about little jaguars.

That being said, I'll still get another (hah!) test in a few months to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Did you have rapid tests too?  I remember you saying that you had your conclusive negative (congrats, btw) result.

I will be SO glad when it's 13 weeks, so I will know for sure.

Hey, seriously, don't sweat it about specific tests and what not. You had a 9 wk negative. Keep this in mind, you'll be fine.

Damn, I should have gotten the elisa test today.  I had a blood test done, I should've just told them to test for HIV.
