I am a heterosexual male who had unprotected oral sex with a female of unknown hiv status. I have known her for along time but as i said i have no idea of her hiv status. I was the insertive partner. I have read many things about the risks of oral sex, and they seem to differ depending where you read it. This exposure took place about three weeks ago, and shortly after i became very ill. I am still sick and over all feel like hell, weak aching legs, very sick to my stomach, head ache, and bad cough. I am not married, but do have a live in girl friend who is starting wonder why iam avoiding having sex with her. I have scheduled a combination (pcr/ antibody test) in few weeks which will be at the six week mark, but not sure what to do until then. The stress is becoming overwhelming, was hopinfg someone would have some clear advice.. Thank you

I have tried to do my best not to repost, as it is fairly clear the stance taken on oral sex exposure or as it appears the lack there of. I am just having a hard time with the fact the shortly there after, i became very ill, and still have not recovered. I would welcome any or comments and hopefully some reassurance, i swear i will go away, and not post again.....Thanks in advance

Thank you for quick responce, It has been a long couple of weeks worrying about this. Do you think i should disregard the hiv testing? and test for the other std's?

You never had a risk of Hiv transmission,However i would suggest you test for other more common STD,s and use protection with your girlfriend until you know the results. Many studies conducted on positive/negative partners confirm that oral sex is a zero risk activity for Hiv transmission. Your safe.
