Does UTI mean exposure to HIV also?

I had protected sex  with a sex worker sometime during end of Mar'2012. Post the session, I noticed slight irritation during urination which later developed into acute and serious UTI lasting 2 weeks. Though am sure, that the condom did not rupture, am correlating the UTI with this sex encounter and I am worried that this could mean that I could have got infected with HIV.Please advise as to what is the percentage risk of exposure to HIV in this case.

As long as the condom remained intact, and covered the head of your penis, you were 100% protected.

The doctors in our HIV expert forum, who have been specializing in treating HIV for decades, will tell you the exact same thing.

UTI symptoms could mimic those of other, non-HIV STDs.  If you have any questions, please post in the STD forum, as this one is HIV specific.

Hello!
Condoms can reduce the risk of HIV transmission by approximately 80-90% if used correctly. No barrier method is 100% effective. Condom use may cause UTI in males. Since you are sure that the condom didn’t rupture the chances of HIV transmission are very low. Take complete treatment for your UTI. You need to follow few basic precautions like urinating before and after sex.Clean your genitals before and after sex.Frequent sex and more sex partners increases the risk of UTI ,STIs and HIV so please be careful. In case you develop swollen glands, penile discharge or any other symptom related to STI then do consult a doctor. Hope it helps.
Good luck!
