Dont know what to do !? Needle stick !!!!

Hello everyone ,

Thank you for being here and helps people.

I am really looking for help and some advice .

Today before 2 hours i was walking with friends inside the town. While we were walking I felt pain in my foot it's was really hurt I looked down and I saw a needle without barrel (syringe) it's just the needle i took off my shoes and i saw blood I went to my house and i wash it . It really still hurts and I feel I can't walk .

My friend told me there might be risk of hiv , hbv and hcv . I am really scared and I feel I can't think every thing turned to dark .

Guys please suggest me what to do ..!?

I have a pregnant wife and 2 kids I don't wanna hurt them . I don't wanna hurt my wife and give her something.

Do I really have risk of hiv !?
What is my risk !?
Is there anything to do !?

Plz guys some helps

Many thanks

Hello guys thank you for ur replaying

I went to private clinic and I spoke to the doctor,, he said there is not risk of hiv duo to the stick coz the percentage of people whose living with HIV here is tiny and if the needle was using by hiv + still no risk coz you didn't injected anything you just got stick and the virus it's self very weak and will not be active at that time he suggested me to forget this incident and to continue my sexual life with my pregnant wife without worrying and he said there might be risk of bacteria not viruses .

He said no PEP needed
And no test needed

Just forget .

-------

What do you suggesting guys

Shall I visit another doctor!?
Shall i do the test after 3 months!?

Many thanks

There is not a single documented case in the world of anyone getting hiv from needle outside healthcare centre...........It may be a risk for hcv and hbv not for hiv ..................Discuss this issue with family doctor.........

A needle without barrel and plunger attached to it,is not as dangerous as you are thinking, from HIV transmission viewpoint. The prime reason of high risk associated with syringes is due to the vacuum and absence of ambient oxygen, once the plunger is pulled. HIV can survive under vacuum but can not, inside a hollow needle exposed to air from both sides. Even if the syringe was used by an HIV+ person (very remote possibility), the virus would not be active anymore after a few seconds of its exposure to ambient air. I do not think you have a real risk situation here

The syringe needle like that 100 ml wich the nurses using to give injection
I tried to look for the other parts ( barrel- plunger ) and I couldn't find it
I just found the needle and next to it the cap of the needle .

I am living in country which has 4500 people who living with HIV .

I am afraid if I couldn't find the PEP coz in my country we like third world class

But i will go to the hospital in the morning still have to wait for 12 hours until they open up .

Thank u for ur reply.

At all what is my chances !?

This is definitely a peculiar situation.  To me, the way you described the needle seems it would not be the one use for IV drug use.  I don't think PEP is needed, but I would discuss that with your doctor to get a good answer.
