Thank you both for your feedback! I guess i'm just unnerved and freaked out by the whole experience! Hopefully I can get over what happened last night and move on with my life... the experience definately taught me a lesson though- I will NEVER put myself in another situation where I am at a diminished capacity around people I do not know. I suppose that even though I am a "man", my small body size makes me more vulnerable to scum like the guy from last night. Again, thank you both for taking the time to provide me with information- i REALLY appreciate it!!
You never had an exposure. It was protected sex.
Saliva is not infectious, it actually has proteins and enzymes that inhibit the virus and deactivate it.
Side effects can in some cases be very severe. I would not condone lying about what happened, but that is your choice.
No there is no guarentee that PEP would work and prvent an infection but as you have said he used a condom so with that you really didn't have a risk.
This happened last night and I do not know the identity of the man who raped me- we were only on a first name basis. My main concern is that he spit on me prior to insertion. Like I said, i definately saw a condom on him when he was finished and pulled out, but there was still the saliva involved. I did not sleep a wink all night, and I am panic stricken about having been possibly infected! Do you think I should just lie about the circumstances to the ER doctor so he/she will just give me the PEP? I'd rather take the chance of getting side effects from the meds than risk an HIV infection!!!
Thanks for your help!!!!!!!

You might be embarrased but you really should report this to law enforcement and go to the hospital to have a rape kit done. I know it must be hard but if you don't stop this person who will?
Now this is the tricky part because PEP is recommended to people with known exposures (unprotected sex with a HIV+ person.) You don't know if he is HIV+ and you saw him take off a condom. So with that info you would not be within the recommended guidelines for PEP.
But I again urge you to report this to law enforcement.
