Hi.
I looked at the Fenway Health site andvthey do indeed make the claim at 2 weeks, but Vance is right. 4 weeks is still the official guide for 4th Gen Test.
Source: CDC and in my country BASHH.
They have made an update to say that a DUO test at 28 days can be taken as conclusive. They leave it up to the patient and Dr to test further based on exposure.
Hi Vance,
Did the CDC change their guidelines recently regarding HIV testing?
As I understood it, they always stated there is a 3 month testing window?
No it would not be conclsuive. CDC guidelines is DUO test at 28 days can be considered conclusive
The test was negative. If I had the test in Boston it would be considered conclusive at 2weeks. How come?? I think I will still walk away with these results.

I found the link for the site, very informative site.
Call them, Fenway Health told me to come in anytime after 2 weeks for fourth generation test. Rapid test have to wait until 2 months.
Find it hard to believe New York would give 15 day's for a Duo.
The accepted advice today is 28 days day's.
Thanks Vance, I am new to this. Why does New York have window at 15 days? Is it a different test. maybe I will go there and test :) save the wait lol.
28 days Duo test is conclusive. Any negative test is a good test.
Well the results aren't back, arghh. I am getting stressed over calling back again. Is there any percentages how many people would have a positive duo test at 3 weeks (18.5) days? I have rad the New York states duo test is good at 14-15 days. Has anyone else heard this.
Well headache is gone :) think I am just stressing over getting the test results back tomorrow. After a lot of research I am fine with the test at 19days and will move on. Thanks for the feedback all, wish me luck.
So headache after 21 days wouldn't be a concern without a fever
18 days is good sign but 28 days is conclusive.
Also had a brief headache the last few days. I think it might be anxiety waiting for test results. I have read a feever always comes with ars.
