No one ever got infected by fingering, so it is safe to say you won't be the first to get infected this way. Your symptoms could be anything really. Notice how many people with various symptoms tested out negative in the end, which is not surprising, since hiv is not the only virus in this planet.

YOU SHOULD GO TO YOUR DOCTOR TO BE SURE YOU DON'T HAVE STREP.  There is a variant that can cause a rash, and it can damage your heart valves if you don't get treated.  Or, you could have any of the hundreds of garden variety sore throat/rash causing viruses that abound at this time of year.

The literature is NOT "filled" with cases that were negative at 5 weeks, and positive afterwards.  A 5 week test is probably more that 95% accurate.  I'm sure there have been recorded cases, but not the amounts you are implying by saying the literature is "filled" with cases.

Your negative 5 week test, combined with the fact that fingering someone, blood or no blood, is not a risk for HIV, makes it pretty clear that you don't have HIV.  Unless you had some other definite risk, like uprotected sex with a + person, or injection drug use.

Your feeling sick probably because you haven't slept in 5 weeks and worrying yourself sick with anxiety.  That would make anyone start feeling sick and start having 'ARS'.

the rash is classic like the pix on the dermatology sites.  the tonsil has a small ulcer.  there was a hemorrhage of the soft palate that is resolving.  this is all within 6 wks of exposure even though 5 wk 2nd gen home access test was neg.  the symptoms have not been simultaneous (headache then diarrhea then pharyngitis and now rash--with the pharyngitis).  the literature is filled w/ cases w/ neg Ab test and positive later test especially w/ classic symptoms.  i hope you guys are right.  i don't mean to clog up the forum--but this is real and frightening.  should i get more testing?  when?

To be honest with you, I'd never have tested in the first place over this incident.
You're looking at a domesday scenario that simply won't occur.
Furthermore, ARS come on all at once and leave all at once. Yours come and go, or follow each other.

Your terrified of having contracted HIV. My advice is to test again in a couple of weeks, not because I think there is ANY chance of you being positive, but because nothing else will calm you down.

Also, get some counselling. There's something else behind all this. Digital stimulation is one of the most common sexual acts, and there has NEVER been a case of transmission in this way.

For your own sake, I beg you to let this go. But if you can't test again any time now and pick up the inevitable negative result:)

Dobb is right.  There are hundred of things that can cause sore throats and rashes.  All far more common than HIV.  See your doctor, because strep throat can very often present just this way, and can cause some problems if not treated.

no other risk except deep kissing.  doesn't seroconversion happen after symptoms--such as rash and sore throat so 5 wk test not accurate?

Again, and for the last time, deep kissing is not a risk. Neither is fingering, regardless of blood.

So if you have no other risk, you don't have HIV.  You might have something else, so go to the doctor.  The presence of symptoms means nothing in regards to seroconversion.  People who have no symptoms at all can have a positive test if they have HIV.

You didn't have a risk. See your doctor about your symptoms.
You have a sore throat and a rash. Two of the most common symptoms in medicine. It could be anything...except HIV because you didn't have a risk:)
