Back in mid-June, I had unprotected PIV sex with an on again/off again long-term partner of supposed negative status. Biggest concern arises from the fact he's suffered with addiction via intravenous drug use. About 4-6 weeks after this encounter, I developed a rather nasty sinus infection, and during the course of antibiotics, a flu-like illness. Said flu-like illness began with an all-over body ache and slight fever that lasted for less than a 24hr period. For 3 days after, I had constant diarrhea (but no fever/body ache).
Late July, I went for a regular CBC. All counts normal, except for a "severe" Vitamin D deficiency. My doctor prescribed medication for the deficiency, and about 2 weeks later, I noticed a swollen lymph node in my groin area. It remains, to date, hard, fixed and painful (sometimes itchy, if that makes any sense).
I've a few questions regarding my exposure as well as the risk, should I test positive, having passed it on to someone else:
• Can ONE swollen, painful node be indicative of HIV infection? Would it pop up a few weeks after initial Primary Infection?
• Would my CBC show abnormal counts after initial infection or only during?
• What risk, statistically (if available), would there be from transmitting the virus by performing unprotected oral sex and the receiver performing unprotected oral sex also?
• What risk, "", would there be transmitting the virus through kissing? (Noticed my wisdom teeth coming in.)
Went for a test last Tuesday and am anxiously waiting for the results. I don't know if I can attribute this to my anxieties, but now my armpits seriously HURT (like I pulled something - nothing swollen underneath, however) but can't recall doing anything strenuous.
Many thanks
