Freaking Out

A month ago now I went to sit on a public toilet and as I sat the tip of my penis touched the inside rim of the bowl. Within the last few days I have developed a rash around my groin and thigh. I'm worried that I have contracted HIV through my urethra when my penis touched the toilet bowl. Now that I have the rash I'm freaking out that there was any kind of body fluid on the toilet bowl where I touched it with my penis. Am I at risk? Do I need to be tested?

I'm really worried and I thank anyone in advanced who might be able to give me any advice.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions, therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

So would that apply to all the viruses or just the ones that are not directly exposed to the air. I cant explain it very well. If there was blood and the viruses towards the center of the blood weren't exposed to the air is what I'm saying.

I had read that you cant get HIV from a toilet seat but i felt that my situation was different being that the tip of my penis touched the toilet bowl not like my thighs or anything and that the urethra was what came into contact.

when the virus comes into contact with the air does it become inactive instantly or is there a time frame?

Also, the rash is coincidental and not related to HIV infection (in my case)? Cause what made me start freaking out was the rash and I had read it is a possible symptom.

Thanks GoodGuy43789,

This helps. So what your saying is HIV can't be spread from leaving bodily fluids on surfaces and objects and coming into contact with other people?
