I just need to know if palm skin rash and skin peeling 3 weeks after the exposure can occur by themselves as ARS symptom . No other symptoms. This is m last post.
If you remember everything clearly then your are NOT AT RISK.
What bit of that are you having difficulty with?
You don't 'need' to do anything. Now we know you had protected sex about 7 weeks ago, and your test at 6 weeks was negative (showing your longer term past sexual activities had not resulted in HIV transmission) you are worrying about nothing.
If this is the mental and emotional state you experience as a result of visiting sex workers, then just stop doing it. If necessary see a Counsellor for professional support.
In the meantime, maintain safer sex in all your encounters.
I was not under the influence of anything at all. I clearly remember the whole thing. I did another test at 6 weeks which came back negative. Do I need to do another one at 8 weeks?
Alex
All symptoms that *may* indicate recent HIV exposure (sero conversion) are not only close to being coincidence because they are something else, they are *exactly* the same symptoms as those caused by a host of other things.
That is why HIV sero conversion symptoms are only even remotely likely to be HIV sero conversion *if* you have engaged in genuinely risky behaviour.
You haven't - unless at the time of the sex you describe you were in a drug or alcohol induced stupor and couldn't really remember if the sex was really protected or not.
And if you were you would have said so earlier.
Millions of people get the hand/palm symptoms you describe every day, and periods of weight loss you describe are very common too.
If you are still genuinely worried - despite all the evidence to the contrary - have another test in the next couple of weeks.
Tests now are actually pretty sensitive 98% of the time to a window of 6-8 weeks.
I know you guys said I didn't have risk but what scares me is the fact that Dr. Bob on thebody.com and University of Australia describe rash on the palm and skin peeling as ARS symptom. It started 3 weeks after exposure and it's still peeling. No other symptoms as far as I can tell. I know symptoms are not a good way to see if you have an infection but I just need to know if I am taking it out context. It says "sometimes there is involvement of the palms with noticeable peeling of the skin" I am guessing something must have happened during the protected sex without me knowing it. The symptoms are too close to be just a coincidence. Please HELP..
Thank you!
You had protected sex you didn't have a risk.
Do they indicate an HIV infection. Palm and finger rash and skin peeling. Weight loss of 7 pounds in 6 weeks.
