Gave Oral Sex to HIV+ Male (Undetectable VL)

Hello,

I recently performed oral sex on a circumcised man who I just learned is HIV+. He has told me that he has an undetectable viral load (last check was 40 copies).

He did not ejaculate in my mouth, though pre-seminal fluid was definitely in my mouth.

He also gave me a rim job.

He came on his own chest.

How likely is it that I contracted HIV from this encounter?

I did not brush my teeth, floss, or have any apparent cuts/abrasions in my mouth at the time.

Much thanks.

We can't tell you what to believe, but we can tell you that our forums aren't a venue for debate over our stance that oral sex carries no risk for HIV.  Our stance will not change unless we receive definitive scientific evidence to the contrary.

Thank you for your advice, I've read quite a bit of material and understand that it was not "Zero" risk, so i'm hoping for a medical professional to assess the likelihood of this particular incident?

no you don't have any risk for HIV at all. HIV cannot spread through oral sex.
