HIV & oral sex follow-up question...

Hi all,

Okay, so I know I posted something last week about performing unprotected oral sex on my boyfriend (4/16). He claims he's clean (he's a new boyfriend, we've been dating for a few months; I've known him a little over a year) and doesn't have HIV or STDs -- said he got tested "a couple months ago." He gets very upset when I ask him about this again and again.

Anyway, like I said, I performed unprotected oral on him a little over a week ago. I did have a little canker sore in my mouth at the time (which I still have -- slowly resolving).

It's not that I don't believe I'm HIV negative. I really hope I am. However, I read some posts in the STD community, and many posters claim that you can in fact get HIV from unprotected oral. So... I'm confused. Do I have a risk or not?

We can't help the incorrect information you find in other forums. HIV is not transmitted by oral sex.

Thanks, Teak. I'll try my best not to read any other posts and reassure myself that I won't need testing. Thanks again :)
