Hi there

not sure if this is silly... met a girl in a bar and by the end of the night was quite drunk... when i said i was going she handed me 2 ecstacy pills in a tight cealed plastic little bag... i took them later that night... is there anyway that blood could have been on the pills and i have swallowed them and i catch hiv? i have never taken them before and i am worried sick...

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child

Okay thank you Teak - is this because it doesnt survive outside the host? does it being in a cealed plastic bag change things because of the temperature at all?

They could have been soaked in blood and wouldn't have been a risk of contracting HIV.
