HIV 1 Groups

Hello, All,

Does anyone know which Duo test, (manufacturer), or which test generally would be the best one to use to ensure I was tested for HIV 1 groups O & N?
My risk is broken condom with a sex worker from central Africa, over three months ago.
I realise these groups are rare, N being rarer than O, I also know there is a group P, but there has only been two documented cases.

Thanks

You do not have hiv as you have tested negative at 17 weeks with a 4th gen test that detects both the virus and antibodies. Irregardless of type of strain. The body will produce the same kind of antibodies for all strains. Hiv strains are identified after you test positive. So please accept your negative result and move on with your life.

I have had a duo test as they didn't do an antibody only test, it was negative,( 17 weeks). I do have some symptoms that have been present for 8 weeks, but I'm not going to waste time as I know HIV isn't diagnosed by symptoms. I have researched and discovered the duo detects HIV 1, groups M and O and HIV 2. As my risk was with someone from the area were HIV 1 Group N and P are found can anyone help with a test to take that will be able to detect those strains as I haven't  been able to find a test for those strains. I do realise both are extremely rare, but the possibility does exist as she was from the appropriate area and had only come to Europe a few months previously.

Thanks, I've checked and there are cases where the Duo test has missed Group O infections. Does anyone know the most accurate Duo test for the different groups, eg O and N?
