HIV DNA PCR TEST ON 15TH DAY


I had unprotected sex with a prostitute , after two weeks , on 15th day i gone for DNA pcr test , my report came on 17th day , HIV 1 DNA not detected , i did my test at srl diagnostic in delhi and test conducted  in mumbai . My questions is how reliable is all these test . I m from India

I am sure that it is a good indicator but you need to follow the guidelines. As I mentioned before 4th generation HIV test is accurate 28days post exposure and a simple HIV test 3 months post exposure.

Hi , its been now 28 days , should i again go for Dna pcr test , i want to ask u one thing pls , its now negative , i did my test on 15th day and report came on 17 th day , still there are chances these results may change or not , how ever definately , i will go for tests in future , but i am very afraid , not paying attentions in my professional life , almost on the edge of loosing my job and starting drinking  daily .

Keep calm and wait for the proper time to test. A 4th generation HIV test is accurate 28days post exposure and a simple HIV test 3 months post exposure.

hi, thank you so much for ur reply , but i heard and read on most of the sites that DNA PCR test is reliable after 14 days , thats why i did it on 15th day . Can u pls reply tell dna pcr test is not reliable on 15th day ? I m very tensed .
