HIV EIA Cutoff!!! Relatively consider negative non reactive <1.00: WHY?

Good morning all,

I recently went in for my 5 year blood work including an STD panel.

I was going over my HIV EIA(6 weeks exposure test) test and notice an annonation and I was wondering if anyone knows what it means and why they put it on my test.

Not 100% sure of the wording.

Annonation: specimen reactivity at cutoff consider relatively negative.

HIV Qual(somthing like that)

Results               Reference

<1.00                 <1.00

1. Do I have something to worry about because I was near the cutoff?

2. I haven't had a high risk exposure!!!

3. Should Retest

4. The annonation a stadard?

5. i called a hiv testing place and I was told everyone that is negative have the same annonation and result numbers <1.00?

Thanks all and god bless!!

if you have not had a high risk exposure and the lab said it is negative...what are you worried about?

relax...enjoy life!

You're reading too much into it.  Negative is negative.
