HIV RASH??

Please could someone help me out here - I am really worried I have contracted HIV. A couple of months ago I had unprotected sex with a lady friend of mine (I know her so I wasn't really concerned about using a condom). Anyway what I am worried about is that I have just developed a sort of itchy, round spots (not raised) rash on the upper part of my back. Is this an early symptom of HIV? What does the rash look like? Where is it usually found? How soon does it start? I am really stressing so do you think this could be stress related instead? Thank you

ARS rashes do not itch.

If she,s a lady friend why don,t you ask her status or better still ask her if she is willing to take a test, otherwise test at 12 weeks for a conclusive result. As far as the rash is concerned,ARS rashes don,t itch and they don,t appear after a couple of months. All the best.

Maybe I am just imagining that they itch? Where do these rashes normally appear? The are round flat red circles on my upper back.  Does this sound like something I should be worried about?

You don,t need to worry about your rash.ARS rashes NEVER appear after 2 months. They appear 2 to 4 weeks after infection. You just need to test and it,s only another month to go untill 12 weeks right.

Yeah, just really scared that I have done something really stupid. Where, when and how long do these ARS rashes take? Thanks for all your help - good to be able to chat to someone about this.

Ok,ARS rashes appear 2 to 4 weeks after infection and last anywhere between 4 days and 2 weeks. They don,t itch and appear on the trunk--torso and limbs, they don,t come and go either, however some people who have been infected will have no symptoms at all.

Thanks for all your help and feedback - really appreciate it. This rash started about 3 weeks ago and it is still there. Not sure if it's me imagining that they itch but it sure feels like it and almost like knives piercing my back. I only have them on the upper part of my back and no where else - so I guess I should be ok?

Yes,you don,t have an ARS rash,trust me.

Hi guys ... sorry but it's me again.
Just wanted to find out a couple of things.  The rash on my back seems to come and go all the time now.  I have also now developed what seems like white sore bumps on the inside of my upper lip.  Is this an early symptom of HIV infection?  I'm a smoker so also concerned it might be oral cancer.
Thanks again for all your help and input ....

ARS rash does not come and go.

White bumps on the inside of your lips is not an HIV symptom.

See your GP if you are concerned.

Hi guys ... it's me again - sorry to be such a pain.  The last couple of days I developed flu - runny nose, headache, sweating and then this morning I woke up with two lumps on my upper hard palate.  Is this a reason to be concerned?

You're being a worry wart,worriedwart1.It is time for you to test now it's it?It's been over 3 Months since this happened. What are you waiting for, christmas?

The lady that I had the sexual encounter with months ago is now my long standing girlfriend - she was tested two weeks ago and is negative, so I am assuming that my result would be pretty much the same as we have unprotected sex all the time.  Just really worried about this lump on my hard palate - probably due to the flu I am sure.
Avatar universal
Yes,probably. If she tested negative well you don't have an Hiv concern anymore and you are good to go.See your doctor if the lump doesn't improve. All the best.

Thank you "getitright77" .... she had a full medical done two weeks ago for insurance and everything came back okay - including her HIV status.  We are 100% committed to one another and for the last two months have only been seeing one another.  If she tested negative then it's safe to say, I'd be negative too?

If she has only been with you and she is not an iv drug user then you're safe.A committed relationship.Great to hear that.Have a good life together. You can stop being a worry wart now.

Thank you so much for your trouble and comments - you always manage to put me at ease.  No she's not a drug user and I am actually going to propose to her this weekend - was just a little concerned with the 'new' symptoms I've been having lately but I guess it's nothing but the flu.

When was her last unprotected sex before you?
Avatar universal
It was with me Teak - 8th October this year
Avatar universal
When was your last unprotected sex before her?
Avatar universal
Never had unprotected sex with anyone prior to that .... only with her.
Avatar universal
Just really worried with all these flu symptoms I am feeling at the moment - sneezing, head cold, sweating at nights and now two hard lumps on the top of my hard palate.
Avatar universal
Nothing to do with Hiv seeing as though your both negative.A better way of putting it is that your both safer than the crown jewels.Every man and his dog gets those type of symptoms, just got over the flu myself.Stop being a worry wart!!
Avatar universal
Well I haven't been tested negative .... I am just assuming that if she tested negative and we have only been with each other and I never had unprotected sex before her, then I should be okay?  Yeah this flu is a bit of a shocker - was man down yesterday.
