HIV Risk and Pregnancy
7 Weeks past exposure, I had an HIV Anitgen Antibody test done at the hospital it was Negative. Risk: I was with a man, he said he was HIV STD Negative. I received unprotected oral from a man I met online, then I was the insertive partner, I wore a condom and I ejaculated while inside of him there was no condom failure because my semen was inside the reservoir tip when i pulled out and removed the condom. That same day in the night i had unprotected sex with my girlfriend and finished inside of her. About 3 weeks after my girlfriend and I had unprotected sex again and she is now pregnant. I got scared because I remembered what I did and that's when I went to get tested for HIV and STDs 7 weeks after I was with the man. Test came out negative. Now my girlfriend has been having stomach pains, nausea, morning sickness, fatigue, headache, she smells everything more than normal, is always sleepy. Neither one of us has had ARS symptoms no Fever, swollen lymph nodes, diarrhea I am worried that the test failed to detect HIV and I'm worried that she might be infected. She is now 7-9 weeks pregnant, and I am freaking out. She has her first prenatal visit and labs towards the end of this month and I don't know what I am going to do.
Those sound like typical pregnancy symptoms that she is having. You had zero risk wearing a condom. Oral is never a risk, protected anal sex is not a risk. Zero risk. The only risks or HIV transmission are unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles. You also had that confirmed by a negative test. So, enjoy the pregnancy and don't let your anxiety get in the way. HIV is not a situation you need to worry about from your exposure.

Thank you. I hope to be a great dad. I am just worried because I was reading on websites that HIV transmission while using a condom can still happen and I do not understand how? Can someone help clarify this? How can HIV transmission happen if a condom is still being used?
You can read anything on the internet, so your efforts to diagnose from it and become an expert in hiv transmission amounts to Googling for death. We rely on the opinion of expert doctors and do not pay attention to what people claim they found on other sites, otherwise we will be here arguing all day.
The first step to peace is to stop googling hiv cold turkey, stop examining your and her body for symptoms, then move on. Reread my advice about "doctors," "attention" and 40, then realize that you are the only one trying to make a diagnosis from perceived "symptoms" yet you are not a doctor.

Thank you. This actually does make sense what you just said. I think more than anxiety it's feeling guilt over what I did and am now regretting it. Remembering the event, there was not tear, or rip from the condom so there's no way I was unprotected. I'll stop cold turkey.
Good. You should feel better and be able to go back to your happy life. btw if a condom fails it is a large rip down the seam and it hangs in tatters so it's hard to take off.
@anxiousnomore I was actually wondering that. How noticeable is it? I have searched for stories or photos to compare and have something to go off, but I can't find anything. I'm guessing it's really hard to miss?

Your situation involves personal contact with an object in air (his hands, mouth, lips etc. which is not a risk for hiv.) as well as protected sex. No worries, because you can't get hiv from personal contact except unprotected penetrating vaginal or anal, neither of which you did and you didn't share hollow needles to inject with which is the only other way to acquire hiv. Analysis of large numbers of infected people over the 40 years of hiv history has proven that people don't get hiv in the way you are worried is a risk.
HIV is a fragile virus in air or saliva and is effectively instantly dead in either air or saliva so the worst that could happen is dead virus rubbed you, and obviously anything which is dead cannot live again so you are good. Blood and cuts would not be relevant in your situation since the hiv has become effectively dead, so you don't have to worry about them to be sure that you are safe.
There is no reason for a person to test when they are safe. The advice took into consideration that the other person might be positive, so move on and enjoy life instead of thinking about this non-event. Next time you wonder if you had a risk, ask yourself if you did any of the 3, then after you say "Nope, I didn't" then it's time to move on back to your happy life.

Thank you, I am just worried about all the symptoms my girlfriend is having, I don't have any symptoms. So basically because I used a condom, it was 100% safe to have unprotected sex with my girlfriend the same day and 3 weeks after?
