HIV Symtoms?

Hi All

So I cannot go a day without worrying that my symptoms might be HIV related. Can you please leave me some of your thoughts on the following?

1) I had a sexual encounter in which I performed oral on my partner. And only down the road, she made me aware that she had just finished her medication the for an STI (chlamydia) a couple days before that had happened. And she was diagnosed with HPV—This was in May of this past year.

2) fast forward to the end of July, I began to experience some unusual symptoms:

-Sore throat (started as sore, progressed as dry and is now causing the back of my tongue to ache at times. It has now been five months with a sore throat.

-mouth sores that come and go constantly
-pressure in my right eye (not pink eye)
-aching pain in penis tip
-aching pain in rectum (sometimes itches)
-sharp pains in the bottom of my feet
-aching in lymph nodes under jaw, collar bone and groin
-light skin rash on forearm for about a month an a half
-no vomiting
-no diarrhea
-no weight loss
-inconsistent fever

3) I’ve been to the doctor to get a full std screen three times. One in July, August and November. Each time I was tested for HIV and HSV-1/2 with the 4th generation blood test—all came back negative. And since the tests are negative, my primary care doctor just said “allergies for the reason of the sore throat.” Really!?

4) it is important to note that during this past year I was on a cycle of 50mg Anavar (anabolic steroid) so I am wondering if that may have given me false negatives on my antibody blood tests?

5) I have not been with anybody since that encounter because I have been nervous about something that may be hidden.

6) since it has been a 6-almost 7 months, should I get tested for HIV again? If not, then what else can it be?

Please help!

Thank you for your response—just to be sure, do you think the Anavar may have had an affect on the antibody test?

Nothing can affect a purposeless test. Your situation is the same as if you tested to see if she made you pregnant, then wondering if Anavar affected the test.

Oral is not a risk for HIV, so your tests were unnecessary. Further testing would be abnormal so if you still plan on doing that consider therapy or a talk with your doctor instead. You have suffered a lot for no reason including isolating yourself per (5), but hopefully you either accept the 40 year old science and move on, or else seek therapy.
No one can diagnose you from here, but it is likely that your symptoms are anxiety driven caused by over-examining your body and self diagnosing symptoms that are just in your imagination. So if you can relax they may disappear.
