HIV Test

I took an Elisa test and it was positive and I took a Western Blot test and it was negative.  The syphilis test was negative.  So I am taking another Elisa, Western Blot and PCR test.  What are my chances of these tests being positive???

Everyone, I got my results today,  Elisa - NEGATIVE, Western Blot - NEGATIVE, PCR - NEGATIVE.  You all have been so wonderful. This was my first time being on the forum and you have made it so easy to understand what was going on and very good advise!!!!!!!

As you were told, a WB trumps a positive antibody test.

You all have been wonderful and great supporters.  I re-took these tests on Monday August 22nd and should get the results back on Friday, August 26.  But I can't get the PRC until 2 weeks.  But I will let you all know how the results. I am in better sprits now.

In Medicine, when elisa test is positive and western blot is negative, your HIV status is considered HIV Negative. But to rule out the possibilities, they perform PCR test. I am sure it will be negative. Let us know how it goes.
