HIV and differential blood count..plz help...

Dear all,

I am a circumcised male and had an unprotected vaginal intercourse with a sex worker for 10-15 seconds after travelling to a tropical country and then continued having protected sex for another 3-5 minutes. After approximately 2 weeks I found myself sweating (mild) in the night which continued for about a week and stopped until now (for the last 2 weeks) became extremely worried. Felt feverish (temp was always around 98.4- rarely 99) and mild fatigue for another week. Out of tension, I went for HIV and came out negative. After 3 weeks went to see a doctor who ordered the HIV test again along with Complete blood count. I came out negative and CBC showed up high level of neutrophil (76%) and WBC  and low lymphocytes (17.3%).  The doctor prescribed  antibiotic and told me not to worry cause he told it was clearly a bacterial infection and he found lymphadnopathy . Now after a 2 weeks of the tests, I  dont know, I sometimes feel veeery slight pain around my joints. Is this for sure that I am in acute HIV stage or all these are happening for bacterial infection? extremely worried....I am planning to get tested again in 1 week time and for the last time.....

I know what you guys are saying...only a negative test can help and on top I now see so many symptoms that I am starting to scare a bit...can you see lymphadenopathy from outside?how do those look? it takes 3-6 weeks to develop antibody...so 3 week is not "too early" if not more conclusive than a 6 week test...on top it is not guaranteed that you wont test positive during seroconversion...."you MAY NOT test positive during seroconversion".....whatever...thanx guys ....its now time to turn to the almighty,...

whatever "symptoms" you think you are having...can also be symptoms for boatloads of other things.  forget the symptoms...your anxiety will create them.

test at 6 weeks post exposure for a great indication of what the final result will be.  follow that up with a three month test for a conclusive result.

First off you took the HIV tests to early, your symptoms are inconsistent with ARS. You need to test at the earliest, 6 weeks post exposure and then again at 3 months to get a conclusive test result.
